In the UK, a study found that sales of conjunctivitis drug recently turned over-the-counter have gone up by 50% in just two years, promoting fears of antibiotic resistance. The BBC quotes Dr. Peter Rose as saying “At a time when we are encouraging less reliance on antibiotics, the rise we found is concerning.”
